The Living Well with Chronic Pain Workshop helps people who are experiencing a wide range of chronic pain conditions such as musculoskeletal pain, fibromyalgia, repetitive strain injury, chronic regional pain syndrome, post stroke or central pain, neuropathic pain, and others.
This free workshop provides information and practical tools to help individuals develop self-management skills, giving them the confidence and motivation they need to better manage their symptoms, challenges and the day-to-day tasks of living with chronic pain, and generally live healthier.
It is the process in which the program is taught that makes it effective. Classes encourage active participation, where mutual support and success build the participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their health and maintain active and fulfilling lives. The workshop will not conflict with existing programs or treatment and is designed to enhance regular treatment.
The workshop is for adults of all ages living with chronic pain as well as family members and caregivers. Participants meet for 2.5 hours, once a week for 6 weeks.
In addition to receiving the book Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions, participants will also receive the Chronic Pain Workbook and Moving Easy exercise CD.
